Elevion Group acquires a new cluster of biomethane plants in the province of Alessandria - Italy

Elevion Group, a European provider of decarbonisation and energy efficiency solutions and part of the ČEZ Group, announces the acquisition of a new cluster of plants located in the province of Alessandria.
With this operations, Elevion Group adds further production capacity to its Italian green gas production asset portfolio, reinforcing its position as one of the most dynamic players in the sector, as the acquisition forms part of the Group’s industrial plan, which aims to achieve a total production capacity of approximately 70 million standard cubic metres of biomethane per year by 2030.
As with the Group’s other bioenergy assets in Italy, these facilities will be converted to the production of advanced biomethane. Once fully operational, the plants are expected to reach a combined production capacity of approximately 5 million standard cubic metres of biomethane per year, helping to avoid the emission of more than 8,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent compared to fossil natural gas. This corresponds to the annual emissions generated by approximately 2,000 households in Italy.
The project is based on a circular economy model that integrates the local agricultural supply chain, renewable energy production and sustainable resource management, with biomethane being produced from a mix of livestock manure, agricultural biomass and locally sourced agro-industrial by-products.

The conversion to biomethane will further strengthen the contribution these plants make to the local area while preserving their role as key infrastructure for the energy valorisation of biomass and by-products from the local agro-industrial supply chain,” Jaroslav Macek, CEO of Elevion Group.
The agreement was signed with AnnaVentorino, an entrepreneur who has been active for many years in the renewable energy and bioenergy sectors. Anna Ventorino will remain involved in the project through a minority shareholding in the new corporate structure.
