Construction of a high-efficiency CHP plant
Challenge
Metrolog Sp. z o.o. was selected through a bidding procedure as the contractor for the task titled “Construction of a source of high-efficiency CHP plant together with the necessary technical infrastructure in Chojnice”. The principal of the investment was Celsium Serwis Sp. z o.o., based in Skarżysko-Kamienna.
The main purpose of the project was:
generation of electricity for the Client's own needs and its sale to the power grid,
production of heat energy for the heating system of the city of Chojnice.
Solution
The project involved the following activities:
preparation of the design documentation,
construction of the technical building - the facility was equipped with solutions significantly reducing noise emissions,
delivery, installation and commissioning of two highly efficient gas powered CHP units with a total thermal power of 5.0 MW and electric power of 4.9 MW; the power supply for the CHP engines is provided by the LNG station,
delivery and installation of transformers, medium and low voltage switchgears,
delivery and installation of the vacuum degassing system,
implementation of the SCADA system controlling the entire cogeneration system.
Effects and benefits:
the total efficiency of the system is 88%,
the system meets the latest standards for emission of gaseous pollutants into the atmosphere,
the newly designed system can work with the existing network in series and in parallel.
The implementation of the investment by Metrolog Sp. z o.o. contributed to a significant increase in the energy efficiency of the district heating system in Chojnice.
