Energy and Water: Elevion Group and RDR Società Benefit Establish Strategic Partnership for Industrial Sustainability

The two groups offer a solution that turns water management from an energy cost into a source of efficiency and competitiveness.

Elevion Group and RDR SpA Società Benefit announce the launch of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the offer on the Italian market of integrated solutions for industrial sustainability. The agreement combines Elevion's expertise in energy efficiency and bioenergy solutions with RDR's many years of experience and over fifty years of know-how in the Integrated Water Cycle sector and in industrial water treatment. The shared goal of the two groups is to present themselves on the B2B market as a single interlocutor capable of combining water and energy solutions in a coherent and measurable platform, providing concrete answers to the needs of efficiency, sustainability and innovation of the production facilities.

The integration of water treatment into Elevion Group's service offering further strengthens the European group's positioning as a unique partner for industrial sustainability and is part of the growth and consolidation path on the Italian market – the second most important after Germany – confirming the country's increasingly central role in the company's European strategy.

The integration of industrial water treatment into the four pillars of our "Bee-Hive" model (energy efficiency, renewables, biomethane and bio-waste, ed.), represents a natural and coherent evolution of our platform. The deep integration between energy, water and bio-resources allows our customers to strengthen regulatory compliance, have measurable ESG indicators and at the same time achieve a significant reduction in operating and investment costs," says Claudio Sanna, CEO at Elevion Group | ITALY

For RDR, this partnership represents the natural evolution of a path that for over fifty years has seen us engaged alongside the managers of the Integrated Water Cycle and industrial companies. The integration with Elevion's expertise allows us to further expand our offer, combining water treatment and management with energy and circularity solutions that meet the new challenges of sustainability. Also thanks to Wisco, a Group company specialising in industrial water treatment, we are able to offer a synergistic and multidisciplinary approach which, as a Benefit Corporation, we believe is essential to guarantee our customers concrete, measurable and lasting answers, in line with market needs and ESG objectives," says Alessandro Di Ruocco, CEO of RDR S.p.A. Società Benefit.

Through this partnership, the two Groups aim to strengthen their presence in the Italian industrial water treatment market — a sector projected to reach an annual value of €3–3.8 billion by 2031, with an expected CAGR of 6–10%, driven by stricter environmental regulations, the rise of circular economy models, and the increasing digitalization of processes (AOPs, MBR, IoT, AI). Between 2024 and 2030, total investments in industrial wastewater treatment systems in Italy are expected to exceed €6.9 billion, confirming the sector’s strategic relevance and strong growth potential.

In this context, Elevion Group is expanding into the Italian Water & Wastewater Treatment segment with a targeted focus on the Food & Beverage, Paper, Textile, and Pharma industries — establishing a new strategic growth driver within its portfolio. According to the Group’s internal projections, the initiative could generate annual revenues in the range of €9–19 million within the next three to five years, excluding the additional upside expected from synergies with Elevion’s Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and ESG Services divisions.

For strategic sectors such as Food & Beverage, Pulp & Paper, Textiles, Chemical-Pharmaceutical and Steel, the industrial water cycle represents one of the most energy-intensive processes within production sites, as well as being a risk factor linked to the possibility of introducing pollutants into water and soil. If managed intelligently, the industrial water cycle becomes a key sector to integrate energy efficiency technologies – such as trigeneration, heat recovery, digital twins and advanced monitoring systems – with circularity solutions based on water recycling and the valorisation of by-products, including biogas, biomass and sewage sludge. This approach allows you to optimize the management of pollutant loads and water and energy consumption, while reducing emissions and operating costs.
