Wiesbaden
Hermann-Ehlers-Schule Neubau 3-Feld-Sporthalle

Challenge
- Construction delays: Following the groundbreaking ceremony (October 2021), completion had been pushed back by more than a year.
- Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Archaeological finds from the Iron Age
- Supply bottlenecks
- Burglary at the construction site with theft of building components
Solution
- Continuation of work and schedule/project management despite external delays: Despite the aforementioned disruptions, the hall was finally officially inaugurated on November 26, 2024 and opened for sports activities.
- Focus on sustainability during implementation (as part of the project solution):
- Wood-frame construction for the facade
- Green flat roof with a photovoltaic system
- Innovative small-scale heating network for heating via the school’s central heating system using combined heat and power (CHP)
