Elevion Group has fully digitized the control of the heat supply of the Magdeburg Campus Tower

Elevion Energy Efficiency GmbH | Member of Elevion Group, equipped the Magdeburg Campus Tower with its products ECO SMART and HYDRAULIC SMART energy efficiency solutions with the aim to reduce heating energy requirements by up to 30%.

The Elevion Group subsidiary is a system provider for “digital energy efficiency” in the real estate industry. The range of services offered by Elevion Energy Efficiency comprises hardware and software for measuring all energy flows and digitally analyzing existing building technology, including optimizing system operation through simple digital control processes.

In the Campus Tower project, the innovative ECO SMART and HYDRAULIC SMART solutions are being used. These include a room automation solution that uses intelligent thermostats to ensure demand-oriented heat consumption in each apartment. Typical energy efficiency measures such as interrupting the heat supply when windows are open, lowering the temperature at night or when residents are absent and temperature corridors with lower and upper limits are implemented automatically.

In addition, the energy data transferred to the building is recorded, visualized and optimized by Elevion Group’s digital solution. Optionally, this data can be integrated into the manager's processes with the help of digital maintenance management.

The simultaneous recording, analysis and control of both the central energy supply and the decentralized energy consumption in each apartment creates the basis for optimization: the energy supply reacts to the actual load requirements of the building. In addition, algorithm-based control of the intelligent thermostats can ensure an even distribution of thermal energy in the building (hydraulic balancing).

The property of GETEC Immobilien Group comprises 240 apartments and 5 commercial units, including a catering facility. To control the entire system, more than 4,000 data points were created in the program to define the corresponding regulation and control processes.

"In addition to the technical interventions already carried out, permanent load management is being implemented throughout the building using our own software name! with specific algorithms. With this project, we want to prove that dynamic hydraulic balancing can be implemented that reacts flexibly to changes in the use of the building," says Jaroslav Macek,  CEO Elevion Group.

"GETEC is constantly striving to optimize the energy efficiency of its real estate portfolio. In addition to regular maintenance and modernization measures, innovative energy efficiency solutions are used," says Rollandy Horvath, Managing Director of GETEC Immobilien GmbH.
